Gifts Completed!

I have 2--yes 2 Completed Finishes.  Both are gifts and were referenced in my March 24th post.  First off is Dolly Mama.  I had a lot of fun stitching her and then got hung up on my finish. Had planned to give her away for Christmas 2012, but she wound up being a 2013 Birthday Gift.  This is truly a momentous occasion as I'd never put any of my stitches onto a tote bag before and it has been YEARS since I stitched a bag.  Special thank you to my friend Lari for finding a bag tutorial that a novice seemstress like myself could follow.  I'm so pleased with the results!!!  What do you think?

Dolly Tote

My 2nd Completed Gift is the tea towel I showed you back in March.  Two very sweet stitchers (Linda & Karen) whom I have never met but are in the crossstich forum with me came over to my blog and gave me the advise I needed to complete the towel.  Upon their advise I used DMC 3064 for the center of the circles. And here it is all finished.

I should have ironed it first :D
Thank you for taking the time to read my update.  Hope you've enjoyed your time here.  I look forward to reading your comments.  Happy Stitching =)

No Foolin

Happy April Fools Day!  No Foolin,  I have another ornament finish! Remember this little guy from Jan 2012?  Nah, didn't figure you did.   I almost forgot him myself :
Ornament #2 2013

I've also made some progress on his buddy.

Jan 2012

April 1 2013
I had high hopes last year, but life got in the way and dashed them.  This year my mantra is FINISH! And Finish I shall.  Until next time my friends.  Happy Stitching =)

Two more finishes...

I'm so happy to say I sqeeked out two more finishes last night!  I've stitched my first Christmas ornament of the year.  It turned out a little bigger than I'd intended, so I'll probably use it as a door knob decoration once it's Completed.  It was also a milestone for me--my first experience with Beading.  Only 6 total and I managed just fine. I don't think I'm quite ready to tackle that Mirabella in my stash just yet though!

Lizzie * Kate Quick-it

My second finish you'll just have to be in suspense over :D.  It's for an exchange and will be mailing out this week.  Once she received it, i'll add a pic.

I will however share a pic of a former UFO & current WIP.  It's a tea towel for my best friends birthday.  I changed the colors to match her kitchen; however I'm having a bit a trouble.  The Cup is DMC 920 with 632 outer ring & 3863 inner ring.  I need one more even lighter color for the center circle and can't quite come up with the right combo.  Anybody care to offer a  "best color"?

I look forward to hearing from you and your color ideas!  Happy Sunday and Happy Stitching!  =)

Marching right along...

Hello there followers.  I have a lot to post today so I'll get right to it...
I have two finishes to share:
Remember my House SAL from 2012--DONE!!

December House

Entire SAL

And I've completed another Love Quilt Square:
The best part about this particular square is that my 12 year old SON stitched some of it.  He asked to help.  My heart just beamed =)

On a decoration note I decided it was time to decorate for Easter.  I didn't have a lot to work with so I stopped into my local thrift store and lookey what I found:

Aren't they great?  I spent a whole $3 on them.

Here's how I used them along with another bunny and grass rug I picked up @ Hobby Lobby:

That's all I have for now.  Thanks for stopping by.  Leave a comment or two if you'd like.  I'm working on a couple more finishes.  Who know's I'm might shock you & post again VERY SOON! Until then Happy Stitching!!!! =)

Two Post in 2 days

What are the odds.  I go 5 months and you don't hear a peep and now here I am again!  Just a little update to let you know I'm recommitting to stitch an ornament a month in 2013 and I've rejoined the blog to do so.  Check it out and see what some other great stitchers have done this year and their plans for 2013.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'd love to hear from you too!  =) Pam
