Two Post in 2 days

What are the odds.  I go 5 months and you don't hear a peep and now here I am again!  Just a little update to let you know I'm recommitting to stitch an ornament a month in 2013 and I've rejoined the blog to do so.  Check it out and see what some other great stitchers have done this year and their plans for 2013.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'd love to hear from you too!  =) Pam

Happy July!

Welcome to July!  Can you believe the year is half over?  It sure has flown for me.  I really should blog more often, but life just keeps getting in the way.  I recently attended the Boy's of the Sun Tour (Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw) with two cousins and a friend.  That was fun. They really put on a good show.

I've managed to complete my By The Bay SAL.  Donna has some other great designs.  Check them out here.

Even managed to stick it in a frame I already had.  Though I plan to find a better one center it also.  Just wanted to enjoy it ASAP!  :D

I've started a new SAL  "25 days of Christmas" designed by my friend Sunshine.  The month is still early check out her blog here and give it a whirl.  She also has some just released designs so look for those as well!  Here's a look at my first 3 days....

Shelley is having a Brittercup Design giveaway on her blog.  I've entered to win. Check it out here.  Give away is July 6th so hurry!

I've got more stitching to do and I've started reading a new novel so off I go again.  Will be celebrating the 4th with family on the 7th at the Lake.  Hope you all have a safe and Happy 4th of July--when ever you Celebrate!  =)

Good Morning Followers.  I'm happy to say I have been busy stitching lately =).  I'm keeping up with my By The Bay SAL.

Mystery Sampler Pt. 2

Lo and Behold I've also completed my June ESC House designed by Sunshine Stitches.  The house charts have not been released publicly yet, but check out her blog for new designs.

I'm looking forward to a morning of stitching.  Might even start something new?  Or might work on a UFO?  Cant quite make up my mind yet!  The remainder of the weekend will be filled with extended family and celebrations of Life/Love and Memories.  Have a Happy Father's Day weekend.

TUSAL + WIP

No I did not fall off the face of the earth.  Had every intention of stitching for myself in March, but hardly stitched @ all.  Did not have one finish the entire month =(.  I'm back at it again and almost finished with a Love Quilt square.  My TUSAL is below along with one of my WIP's.

What an Honor!

I'm so excited!  My friend Katie of Jeremiah's Mom has honored me with an award!

THANK YOU,  THANK YOU,  THANK YOU!  I could not have been more shocked!

Here are all the details about the Liebster Blog award:

Liebster is a German word, meaning favorite, dearest or beloved, and the Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition.  The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:

1.  Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster to.

2.  Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

3.  Post the award on your blog.  List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites.  Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.

4.  Share five random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.

I am giving the Liebster Blog award to these great bloggers:

1)  Paisley @  Rocky River Ramblings She has such a great eye when choosing her patterns!

2)  Jenn @ A Nurse with a Needle This gal has some great finishes and she cracks me up to boot!

3)  Ziggyeor @ Ziggyeor's loopyness  What an encourager.  She and I both stitch for Love Quilts USA.

4)  Lenne @ Cats and Cross Stitch What great finishes and photos!

5)  Carrie @ Carrie's Cross Stitch She's my newest follower.  Thank you Carrie!

Ok so 5 Random Facts about me that you don't know......

1)  When I was 2 years old, I was hospitilized with a rare unknown disease which caused my skin to come off in layers if anything touched me.  Doctors never did find out what caused it! Yes, my skin grew back =)!

2)  I'm sort of a professional singer...I've been paid to sing @ peoples weddings and funerals!

3)  I'm a middle child & so is hubby.

4)  Past professions include:  Candy Maker, Floral Designer & Art Gallery Framer

5)  I hate to shop!  Haven't been to the mall in about 4 years.

There you have it folks. Enough about me, go check out a new blog today.  Thank you again Katie for finding me worthy of this award, eventhough I've neglected my blog almost all month.

LEAP Day & A FINISH!

FINALLY!  I had such high hopes of showing this finish 2 weeks ago, but alas my blog title still holds true.
It is centered, on the square I just got in close to take the pic.  Hope you all have a Happy LEAP DAY.

I'm going to do something a little out of character for me.  I've decided that since March begins with the letter "M" it must mean I should stitch for ME all month.  I'm gonna treat myself and only stitch things I'm keeping.  No gifts, charity, swaps--just me.  I'm kinda excited 'bout giving it a try.  I have some UFO's that need my desperate attention and I have a Lizzy Kate purchased in October that I'm finally going to start!  I'll do my best to show my progess more consistently here.  Happy Stitching my friends.  May God Bless you all!

Winter has arrived!

Yup, winter finally arrived in SC.  The wind blew all day yesterday and Praise the Lord there's no moisture in the air, or we'd probably have SNOW.  YUK!
I've been stitching some, mostly just enjoying my family.  Gonna try to get a little stitching in this evening on my latest Love Quilt square.  This square is for a little boy named is Thomas.  The official deadline is March 1, but my personal goal is Feb 16.  I don't have long, so gotta get finished.
In the meantime wanted to catch up with all my followers and show off my February House...
March should prove to be interesting as my designer friend has hinted that it's green {makes sense--St. Patricks Day}.
Hope to post again soon with another finish.  Until then, Happy Stitching!

Last Jan 2012 Post

I managed to finish my first ornament for 2012 yesterday.  Planning to make a bellpull ornie when I find the "right" branch!  I stitched a twin to this little guy last year  with no problem.  This year, thought I'd never complete it.  Frogs came by twice on this one little creature.  Yes I do still have hair left!
I hinted to my friend Larri last week so pay attention my friend:
I'm also very excited to show off my latest "finds".  Walked into G&W {Goodwill} last week and this was perched on the shelf right in front of me.

Practically had my name on it!  Kit was intact.  Eveything I need to finish this little guy up {with this years date of course}!  Yes, it was only a buck--not even tax!

And now my BIG FREEBIE!

Yup.  You read it correctly folks.  Hubbies aunt called my last Friday and someone had given her this machine.  She started to give it to G&W, but remembered that I'd mentioned wanting one so... It's MINE!  And it WORKS.  However, its been a long time since I've sewn.  Priced thread today $2.75/spool?  Are you kidding me??  Please pass along tips on sales!
Happy stitching everybody. Until next month =)

TUSAL Jan 2012 & updates

As promised here is my ORT Jar for Jan 2012's TUSAL.

I received a Blue Exchange in the mail over the weekend from Lynda.  You can see her blog here.  Everything was so lovely.  I can hardly wait to get stitching on the Lizzy Kate January Snip-it she included.  {you can hardly see it for the flash =( }

After the frogs came to visit, all my friends came over. Seriously all weekend, we had folks over.  I did manage to get a few stitches back on my Snowman Bellpull last night.

Not much too look @ now huh?  Hope everyone has happy stitching today =)

First finish of 2012

I know you thought I got lost but I'm still here!  I have my first finish of 2012.  So excited!! It's a SAL I'm involved in.  My January House is done.  I only had to take a dozen photos to get a good decent one =)  Fabric is Hand Dyed by Fabric Flair called Pale Olives (HD4) that I found at my LNS.  Really love the way its looking together so far..... I did change to colors to go better with my fabby.

My Patriotic LQ is almost complete--i'm working on the boarder.  I missed my goal, but only 'cause I wanted to work on the Jan SAL more than the LQ square.  It was my own goal and the square won't be late--I promise! Gonna get in a few stitches tonight so perhaps I will post again very soon with my second finish.  Until next time....Happy Stitching =)

What's new inc. kit
Now to my next goal.  On Nov 16th I blogged about my Patriotic Love Quilt Square {sorry don't know how to add a link to a particular post } I have a habit of getting frustrated with myself and laying things aside and that's exactly what I did with it~~ ugh!  Anywho, my goal is to have it finished and in the mail by Jan 16th.  Technically its not due until March 1, but I have another square due then too, so I must stay on track!!!!!!  {due to technical difficulties beyond my control I cannot update a pic tonight--tried 5 times then gave up}

I'm off to work on my Patriotic Square.  Happy Stitching Everybody =)
