Success

I am so excited with what I accomplished over my 4 day weekend.  I'm one cup closer to my goal on Whole Lotta Late'.

Granted I may not touch it again until the week before Christmas, because of decorating, party prep etc, but I'm closer!!

It's also beginning to look a little like Christmas at my house.  My son took down all the fall decorations and started decorating outside after school yesterday!

I'll try and update again with some of my inside decorations.  Still hosting my annual homemade ornament swap so there is lots to do to prepare.  Until next time...Happy Stitching!  = ) Pam

I'm such a slacker!

Y'all I have every intention of updating you on my stitching, but only seem to get around to updating Instagram (farmboyslove).  I've worked on several things and have managed a small finish.

I've had some decent progress on Whole Lotta Latte'.
My plan is to put at least an hour a day each weekend on it thru the end of the year.  The goal is to complete the 2 cups I've started this year and then I'll only have 3 more to finish in 2017,

Speaking of 2017.  I have some loose plans with regard to my stitching.  The biggest thing is I've joined the stitch from stash 2017 group.  I am limiting myself to $25/month spending on stitching supplies and stash over an above my Fabric of the Month subscription.  I'm only going to start something new in Jan if I finished what I started that day this year.  In February I'm only going to start  Legitimate Freebie Patterns. As of right now I'm only going to start 3 at the most.   In May again I will only start something new for Maynia if what I started last year is completed by then. It really does mess with my brain when I have too many projects going at one time.  So far that's all I've got for next year. Not much, but its mine : ).
Until next time, Happy Stitching!  = ) Pam

Aug is flying by...

Wow guys I've made it back pretty quickly this time--Yea!  I have not done a lot of stitching this week as I was super tired and all I wanted to do was sleep. It rained everyday, so I'm not sure if it was the weather or what.  Any who, I did want to show you a little bit of progress that I've made on a few projects.

First of all is my Button Sampler.  As I mentioned last week, my dear friend Annie's daughter will attach some of her buttons as a keepsake once the stitching is completed.  I can hardly wait to complete this and gift it to her!  Here's where I've gotten this week:

Next up is my sea turtle.  I"m going to use this as part of a Christmas gift this year.  Thankfully I have some time, but I don't want to wait til the last minute on EVERYTHING : ). I only work on this on during down time & breaks at work.

Sea Turtle by Mill Hill

I'm considering turning Sophia by Summer House Stitch Works into a seat cushion or a pillow.  I'm NOT loving my fabric choice.  For some reason my needle just drags on this particular project? Really weird, I've never had that problem before.  I love how he currently looks more like a bee than an owl!

Last bit of progress to share is my Whole Lotta Latte that I started in January.  I only stitch on this project on Sunday afternoons, when the sun is really bright.  My eyes can usually only stand about an hour on this black fabric. At this rate,  I may finish it in about 10 years--ha!

Just in case yall thought I was sane, I have signed up to stitch the Ursula Michael's design for Ronald McDonald House Family Room in Columbia SC.  Even though the Greenville location is only 20 minutes from my house.  We had family members who stated at the facility in Columbia and I wanted to honor them by stitching the one for that location.  I've got to get myself organized and get started on that one soon.  I believe there are still locations that are available, so if your interested there is a Facebook group you can join.  It's called Ronald McDonald House SAL Group.
Until next time, Happy Stitching =) Pam

August...already?

Hello my stitchy friends! I  hope you've all had a fantastic summer.  I have been busy working and stitching.  I owe you LOTS of WIP updates. I either started these in January or May.  July 4th weekend I attempted to stitch on all of my WIPs for at least 30 minutes.  I didn't quite work on them all, but I made a big dent!

Summer by Cricket Collection Before & After

America, Promise Me, Brew ha ha, Summer, Spring, Whole Latta Late, Jingle Pot Road, Afternoon in London, Autumn

Countdown to Christmas, FPS 2016 SAL, Autumn in my Garden, Happy Pumpkin Spice
Really want to get this one finished and framed for my great niece for Christmas this year, so she can use it next year.  She'll turn one in Sept.  So I'm working on it a little more consistently.
More Countdown to Christmas before & after

Cappuccino by LHN
This was a new start in June.  A special SAL from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I made some changes, mostly color.  I love the white sand beaches as opposed to brown!  I used Kreinik in the water too!  I'm actually almost finished, but for some reason dont have a photo?  This will be a Christmas present for another niece who LOVES the beach.
June portion FPS Summer SAL

Some of July FPS SAL

I have LOTS of haul including a giveaway I won. I also purchased two lots from Stash groups on FB, but don't have photos those.  One lot was 10 Mill Hill kits and all but about 4 were brand new for ..... $20!    The other was a chart of Teresa Wentzler Carousel *squee.  I'm going to start that one in 2017!

Purchased from LNS in June

LNS July

Purchased from JoAnn's June

An IG giveaway I won @ the top and Minders I purchased all arrived the same day!

Why yes, that's more minders I purchased!

Had a really exciting phone call from my neighbor in early July.  She was cleaning out a house & came across a bunch of cross stitch items.  She thought I might want it and called me to come over.  I went to her house and came home with a ton of new stash!

Lot 1 neighbor gave me

Lot 2 neighbor gave me

Lot 3 neighbor gave me

Last but not least *insert drumroll*  New Starts : o. I participated in a challenge to start 5 new things last weekend and then work on them for 2 weeks. Four of them were from my haul above. Here's a pick of them before I started.

Smores by Mill Hill

Sophia by Summer House  I didn't like my original fabric choice

Sea Turtle by Mill Hill
Love Quilts Special Project Square
O Holy Night --Yall its 18ct Black AIDA!!

This final start was actually started around July 23.  A dear friend of mine passed away in April.  I was reminded of this chart recently when speaking with her daughter.  I'm stitching this for her daughter and she will attach precious buttons and finish it to keep.  I don't really have a time rush on this, but I want to finish ASAP, so am trying to stitch on this one at least once a week.

Congratulation if you made it to the end.  I'll try to be back soon with more progress. Until next time. Happy Stitching =) Pam

I wanted to share a photo I took of main street in my home town from a couple of weeks ago.   I just love how they dress up the town for holidays!

I hope you all have a Safe and Happy 4th of July. I'm planning to have a stitching marathan & touch all 25 WIPS. Happy Stitching Y'all!  = ) Pam

June Update #1

Hey Y'all!    I managed to work on a couple WIP's in the last week--yea!
I started Chocolate Maynia on  May  10.
1 "days" work
I've now worked on it for 6 more days in June.

I've also managed to find my counting error for my Pumpkin Passport by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and have been working away on it since Monday.

Not only is it a 2016 stitch along, I'm also including it in my Whine & WIP's for Stitch Maynia.  I love the design, but not the fabric.  Don't get me wrong, it's lovely.  I'm struggling with finding the holes--they just don't seem defined enough. I'm pushing thru and hope to be caught up by Monday. Nearly finished with May then on to the June "block".

My LNS was having an Anniversary Sale last weekend and I was NOT able to go : (.  I was super bummed, so I went online and bought a few things : O.
The first to arrive was a new needle minder by Frosted Pumpkin. I was quite concerned when I pulled this package from the mail box.
"Received unsealed"  YIKES!
Alas, all was well and my order arrived safely!!!

Is this not the cutest thing?!!

I also ordered the PDF of their new Summer SAL that begins June 17.  My reward for getting caught up on Passport is to start this SAL on time!

I will show you my other haul when it arrives.
Until next time, Happy Stitching =) Pam

Welcome JUNE

Wow a new month is upon us.  This year is flying by!  Woke up this morning to Sunshine and rain together.  Got to see a beautiful rainbow on the boy's Last Day of 9th grade!

There's a little bird on the power line as well, but you can barely see him, .  He was too cute--basking in the sun!

Thought I'd wrap up May by showing you my ONE Finish:

I both started and finished this in May.  I combined 2 design's into one.  The "Living" words are from Coutry Stitch Magazine Sept/Oct 1992 (no designer listed).  The Seaside Tiles are by Lucie Heaton found in CrossStitcher magazine March 2009.  I so love how it turned out.  Just need to decide how to Fully Finish it! Seriously considering framing or a pillow.  Would love to hear what you think?

Also wanted to share a few Needle Minders that I made for myself in May

The cute heart was on my Mother's Day card from the hubs.  It says "my wife, my love".  He had no idea when he bought the card I'd be using it on my cross stitch--Ha!  Got the birdcage and owl @ Hobby Lobby and the other one on clearance at Michael's.  I  get my magnets from my LNS or Stoney Creek.

As this is a new month, I'm gonna let myself out of "timeout" and stitch on some Vintage WIP's for a Vintage SAL in the Finish Line FB group.   I'm also using one as my "Whine & Whips" for Stitch Maynia Group.
Do you remember this guy?

Definitely one I whine about!  I love the design and so want it finished, but I was so "all over the place" when I started it that I have a hard time finding my way.  I'm determined though!  I'll try to show my progress more often thru the month.
Well that's all I've got time for for now.  Happy Stitching y'all!  =)  Pam

Up to my old habits

Sorry guys,  I've fallen off the wagon yet again!  I have good intentions, really I do.
I have been stitching and posting on Instagram, but can't seem to find the time to blog. I do have a "new" computer at home now, so NO MORE EXCUSES.

I may have gone completely crazy this year, but "its for science".  Not only did I participate in the Crazy January Challenge and start my first ever Mira chart, I also participated in a Facebook Group challenge of  Stitch Maynia.  I now have 15 more NEW Starts.  Just decided that I'm never going to finish them if I don't START!
I wont bore you with photos of ALL the starts, I'll try to show them as I work on them though.

I have finally stitched another square for Love Quilts USA (click name for link) They have gone thru some changes, have a new website and are now on Facebook. This particular square was a special project and is much smaller than a usual stitch.  I quite like how it turned out!

One other update I'll share for now is my Frosted Pumpkin Passport 2016 Mystery SAL.  I'm currently working on May's release but am going to have to frog some, so.....here's Jan - April.  I have made some personalizatons to certain portions:

Until next time, Happy Stitching Yall =)Pam
