Merry Christmas

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”  Luke 2:11-14

I hope you are all enjoying your time with family today.  Just in case you are able to read a blog or two today, I thought I'd share a little from my annual ornament party this year.

Christmas Eve Eve

Say it isn't so!  December flew by so fast my head is spinning!  I know you think I slipped back into my old habits, but honestly I was trying to get back for weeks!  I have no stitching to share with you today.  I do have some 2016 plans that I will share after Christmas!

On Nov 30 my dear sweet Aunt Sherry was hospitalized for breathing issues.  We spent the next 18 days holding out hope she would recover.  On Dec 16 it was decided that her ventilator tube would be removed and she passed away at 2AM on the 18th with her husband of 53 years, two daughters, my sister and me surrounding her.  She was a special lady and we all knew we were loved when she was around.  My sister and I had the awesome privilege to sing a duet at her service.  I have to say, we were surrounded by Peace thru the entire song.

During this holiday season, take the time to tell EVERYBODY that you love just how much they mean to you.  Life is but a vapor and then we are no more.
Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stitching Everybody!  Pam

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2015

I hope that you have a fantastic day.  We all have at LEAST ONE thing we can be thankful for today.  May all your hearts be full to overflowing with happiness today.  And may you find a minute or two for stitching--Happy Stitching Everyone!!

I have a Finish!

Surprise!  I have another finish!   Before I get to that though, I wanted to give  a big SHOUT OUT to Katie for being such a faithful reader and encourager to me.  She has stuck with me thru my hiatus from blog land and always leaves me such nice comments.  Y'all should all click on her name above and go check out her blog.  Though I rarely comment on her blog, she is truly an inspiration to me! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU my stitchy friend.

Now for my FFO!  A little late for momma's birthday, but I knew I wouldn't give it to her until Thanksgiving anyway.  First is a close up to show off the Cute buttons.  There's a bumble bee, a lady bug and a butterfly.  I did alter the chart a bit as I did not want the "welcome" portion b/c of where it would be hung.  There were three other buttons that I did not use b/c of this.  I still love how it turned out.

Stoney Creek Magazine Spring 2015 Hummingbird Retreat

Here's the entire piece hanging in my home--HA!  I will say I was a bit disappointed in the Bellpull hanger as the ends of the dowel did not come off.  Therefore I had to sew the piece to the dowel.  For me that was difficult. I didn't get it exactly straight so my stitching looks a bit crooked at the bottom (ugh).

I have a quick question before I go.  The last couple of times I've added my pics thru Photo bucket.  Today I added thru my computer.  Obviously they look better today.  Has anyone else had issues with Photo bucket?  If so, how did you resolve it?  Thank you in advance for your help!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm  off to complete my Christmas Ornament Swap items.  Hopefully there will be a post of those soon.  Until then, Happy Stitching everyone!

November Update

As promised I'm back with a WIP update and I've got a couple Fully Finished Objects so I'll start with those....

You may remember this little gem from last November. I attempted to lace it myself, got something on it, got frustrated and put it to the side for "a while".   I just got it back from the framers on Saturday.  They did an amazing job:

Next up is my snow lady.  She makes me very happy!

Designer Aury TM

Moving right along I'll show you two of my current WIP's.  I use that term loosely for my first piece, Afternoon in Paris by Country Cottage Needleworks'.  Technically its in time out while  I feverishly work on my other piece, but a WIP is a WIP is a WIP right?

Next up is Hummingbird Retreat by Stoney Creek which I hope to gift to my mom for her birthday this Friday.  I have a LOT of confetti stitches and a little BS to go yet.  So hoping for LOTS of stitching time!

I must apologize for the state of my photos.  I have a newer camera and it is so detailed that it makes my Aida look distorted.  I assure you my fabric holes are NOT that prominent on my pieces.  Until next time, Happy Stitching = ) Pam!

Happy Novermber...Say What?

My how time flies!  I did not fall off the face of the earth, just the blogging side of it.  I do apologize to anyone who may still check in from time to time.  I may not have been updating you, but I have been stitching.  Lizzy*Kate Christmas Rules is FINISHED, as well as Finished 3 new starts and 3 UFO's!  I'm a happy girl.  I also have 2 WIP's and my annual ornaments on the go.  I'll do another post soon for those!  I wont bore you with words today.  I'll just fill the blog with Photos, in the meantime...Happy Stitching everybody =).

Completed and unwashed

UFO #1 For my tree

Last time you saw this was 2011...seriously?  It needed a bit of BS and the charms!

UFO #2 FFO
This sweet little door hanger was made especially for my brand new great niece.  I now have three--yikes!
New Start #1 FFO Door Hanger
I absolutely fell in love with this gal when I saw her.  Had my LNS grab the chart when she was at the market this spring!  She is currently at the framers!  (don't know what's going on with my photos...the fabric is a beautiful hand dyed blue--looks grey here)
New Start #2 Finished Snow Lady designed by AuryTM!
Last but not least I participated in an ornament exchange with one of the online groups I'm part of.  This one is going out in the mail on Friday. Design can be found in 2015 JCS Ornament Magazine.  Wish you could see the seed beads better--o so pretty!

1st TUSAL of 2015

I'm so glad that Daffycat is once again hosting her Totally Useless Stitch Along this year (Link here).  Each new moon, I'll update a photo Old Ratty Threads as another way to show how much stitching I have accomplished.  Here's where I am as of Jan 1

 and Today
Jan 20:

I've also been busy stitching on L*K Christmas Rules.  Still waiting on "the boy" to fill in that "R".  Don't be too hard on him, I haven't put it down long enough for him to get his hands on it : D.

I also had a time on a work break to pick up this little guy.  Can't believe I started it in Jan 2012?   Here is where I was when I picked it up:

Here's where I am now. Cant find one of my DMC's or I would have gotten further along:

Well that's it for now my readers.  Happy stitching!  =)Pam

Update on Christmas Rules

I have an update! I had hoped to be further along, but I experienced the worst Migraine I've had in many years on my day off so was not able to stitch @ all that day.  You'll notice the "R" is not filled in yet...because my 14 year old son has asked to stitch that part : D. Makes a momma's heart happy.

Jan 9 2015
Our area has experience extremely cold temps for the last couple of days.  We woke up to 11 degrees yesterday and schools were even delayed.  It's a little warmer today and set to be in high 40's this afternoon!  Thank goodness no moisture was in the air.  We are just not prepared for that here!
That's all I have for now.  Hope you're all warm and healthy on this cold Friday.  Happy Stitching!  =)Pam

HAPPY 2015!

It's a new day, its a new year!  I hope you've all had a splendid holiday season.  I was super busy, but am back with the stitchy bug in tow.  I left you hanging a bit back in Nov. so without further delay, here is my completed wedding sampler:
a bit wrinkly, but you get the gist!
The wedding was beautiful. The weather was warmer than expected & for that we were pleased! We're taking it to the framers tomorrow, as I'm letting the bride choose her framing.

Back to that bug I alluded to earlier.  (drum roll please)   I have a new start!  Patterns were purchased in 2012 and correct size fabric in 2013.  I am please as punch to begin this.  Of course my goal is to have it framed and hanging on my wall Dec 2015.

Yep, a BAP(for me anyway) Christmas Rules by Lizzy Kate
I was able to work on it yesterday and here's where I am so far....
 1/2/15
That's it for now, my readers.  I'll update when I can.  Happy stitching everybody!  =) Pam
