Preparing for 2012

Hello bloggy friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  I enjoyed getting to have close family time and extended family time both.  All in all it was a wonderful celebration. I'm preparing to being a new year and have already listed some stitchy goals.  One problem...all my friends keep trying to enable me!  Seems like everybody wants to start new projects and show pic's of them and guess what.... I want to stitch them too!  What'a a girl to do???  I cant stop connecting with friends.  I cant stop reading their blogs.  Hummmm.  Guess I'm gonna have to practice a little self control--UGH!  I'll let you know later how long this last :D

Weight loss:  I did take a before photo of myself yesterday, but don't have the heart to post it yet.  Perhaps when I've made a little progress....say lost 10 lbs?  Anywho, I got on the recombant bike for 15 minutes yesterday. Nothing today.  Tomorrow I'm back @ it.  I'll keep you posted.

Got to go for now.  Have a Tinkerbell stitching goal.  Need to get it mailed Saturday.  Will show a finished pick later!

Merry CHRISTmas 2011

My CHRISTmas wish this year is that each of you will stop and bask in all the blessings that our Lord has givin you this season. Don't make excuses!  Don't dwell on what you cant don't have.  Take time right now and count your blessings.   I'm blessed to know you, to call you my friend.  I'm blessed to see, hear, speak, taste, walk, love and be loved.  There are many, many more too numerous to list here {you'd get tired of reading}.  The most important blessing is that God sent his son JESUS into the world that thru HIM, we might be saved.  May you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  Love ya--Pam

Just wanted to drop in really quick and show you my wonderful stitchy CHRISTmas gift.  Our upstate group drew names and Teresa (no blog) got mine.  She did such a great job picking out stitchy goodness for me.  I'm so excited to get started on these. BUT i'm sticking with my plan--finish what I've started first.  {sorry for poor picture taking skills}

Candy, Pot Holder, Towel, Note pad, Sissors, Threads, & 2 Kits

Ornament Party Highlights

Happy Monday!  I had a wonderful weekend.  My ornament exchange was a HUGE success!  To my suprise, we had 25 in attendance.  The diversity was amazing...from two weeks old to over 70 years old, newly weds (1 week) to 30+ years married.   We had so much food, and fun. Think everybody enjoyed the games.  Twenty-two ladies made ornaments to exchange.  We even had one gal who sent her ornies from out-of-state!

I was also suprised with hostess gifts!  My inspired friend brought me some wonderful stitchy accesories.  How thoughtful is she?  I just love her.  BTW, she has some great tutorials on her blog so check them out!

My sister invited her friend Oxana (no blog) to join us. Not only did she create some cool ornies within 24 hours of the party but she graciously made my nails beautiful for Christmas.  Such a dear sweet new-found friend.

God has truly blessed me this year. I leave you with this thought from our devotional.  In the hustle and bustle of this CHRISTmas season, take the time to enjoy the Christ child, who grew up to become a man.  A man who gave his life for each of us.

"Then because so many people were coming & going that they did not even have a chance to eat, HE said to them, 'Come with me by yourselves to a quite place & get some rest'   Mark 6:31

Christmas

Been a while since I posted huh.  Lots going on but no stitching.  I'm getting ready for my annual Ornament Party.  This year I have about 20 ladies planning to attend.  Each person will bring 5 "like" ornaments that she's made and when she leaves she will have 5 different ornaments to hang on her tree.  We eat brunch, play games and have a devotional.  It's so much fun.  I can hardly wait every year to see all the amazing ornaments that everyone comes up with.  I'm including a couple of pics from last years event!

Tried to get as man in the pic as possible--mother made the fan

One used to be a cooke cutter, the other used to be a coke can

I have my 3 (yes that's right THREE trees) up and decorated.  Still need to add a tree skirt or two.  Have a lot more to do, but I'm not gonna stress.  Whatever gets done--gets done, the rest will have to wait.  I have several games that are ready to be played and the prizes are waiting on the winners!  Putting the final touches on the Devotional and then I'm ready to Party.  Until next time my valued readers =)

2012 Sign Up's & Goals!

Hope you're enjoying my blog so far.  I'm having fun with it.  I've set some stitching goals for 2012.  Complete ALL UFO's (unfinished objects) and WIP's (works in progress) in 2012.  I'm only starting ONE new project until something is completed!  My friend Sunshine has designed a SAL (stitch-a-long) for a group we're in together and I've committed to stitch it with them.  It will be something we will stitch one per month and I'll show updates as I complete them.  I also signed up for Daffy Cat's TUSAL.  I will be posting my ORT's (old ratty threads) so when you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about!

So  Happy to announce that my great niece has arrived.  She and mommy are doing well and going home from the hospital ASAP!  Praising God she arrived safe and healthy! I've attached my favorite pic of Maelyn and big sister Lily.

I'm also happy to say her sampler is Completed!  All that's left is framing.  Thank you for all your encouragement.
I have so much to be Thankful for this year, including my husbands large family.

We had plenty of food, laughter and hugs to go around.  Hope you did too.  Thanks for stopping by and Have a Wonderful Weekend =)

Updates

Not much stitching this week.  Dont have any energy, got a cold.  Here's a peek @ my Patriotic square for Love quilts

On a personal note, wanted to share a photo of the flowers my hubby sent me last friday.  I adore yellow roses, so glad they included some.  Considering participating in our churches 10th annual Chili Cook-off on Sunday.  I've only missed one year, so I'll probably whip up a batch.  Think we had 25 entries last year.  I'll let you know what I decide in a future post =)  Happy Stitching everybody!

Miss Monkey + Exchange

Happy Thursday!  For those of you wondering about the designer of my Monkey Birth Sampler...its my friend Sunshine Stitches.  She graciously created & gifted it to me to match my niece's crib set .  I'm so blessed to have such a talented friend =).

Got a fabulous Fall Exchange in the mail today from Lynda.  The Scarecrow you see is an ink pen and the coin says  " Reading Makes Cents".  It has all my favorite colors.  Cant wait to use that varigated Floss on something.  Hummm need to scour the web for a good chart....
Got to get back to stitching.  Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Photo Update

As my blog suggest...here's the progress on the baby sampler.   My plan is to complete her name (I had to frog part of it--ugh) and then lay it aside until she arrives.  The Doc's are keeping an eye on mom and Maelyn soo she may arrive earlier than scheduled.  In that respect I shall wait to finish until all the stats are in!

Will be working on my love quilt square as well as some Christmas gifts the remainder of this week. Hope to show some progress by weeks end.

Would love to hear from you so please leave a comment.  Have a wonderful day &thanks for stopping by!  Pam

Works in Progress

As promised earlier today, here are the Pics of my two WIP's...

Maiden Voyage

I've been considering a blog for 10 months now and finally "bit the bullet" this morning!  My goal for this blog is to motivate myself and readers to complete projects more quickly and enjoy them longer.  I hate that "rushed to complete something in time" feeling.  Hopefully by blogging my progress I'll better stay on track--with your encouragement of course!

I'm currently working on a Baby Sampler for my great niece and a patriotic quilt square for Love Quilts USA.  I'll try and add a WIP (work in progress) pic of both a little later.  {i'm still getting to know blogger ;)}

I hope you'll enjoy this journey with me....Let's get stitching!
