Last Jan 2012 Post

I managed to finish my first ornament for 2012 yesterday.  Planning to make a bellpull ornie when I find the "right" branch!  I stitched a twin to this little guy last year  with no problem.  This year, thought I'd never complete it.  Frogs came by twice on this one little creature.  Yes I do still have hair left!
I hinted to my friend Larri last week so pay attention my friend:
I'm also very excited to show off my latest "finds".  Walked into G&W {Goodwill} last week and this was perched on the shelf right in front of me.

Practically had my name on it!  Kit was intact.  Eveything I need to finish this little guy up {with this years date of course}!  Yes, it was only a buck--not even tax!

And now my BIG FREEBIE!

Yup.  You read it correctly folks.  Hubbies aunt called my last Friday and someone had given her this machine.  She started to give it to G&W, but remembered that I'd mentioned wanting one so... It's MINE!  And it WORKS.  However, its been a long time since I've sewn.  Priced thread today $2.75/spool?  Are you kidding me??  Please pass along tips on sales!
Happy stitching everybody. Until next month =)

  4. Congrats on your finish, and the great kit find. What an awesome sewing machine. Thread? I rarely buy mine new. I get spools at yard sales or thrift stores.

  5. Oooh! I'm THRILLED! When are you going to bring that machine over and sew with me? Girl, I know the thread seems pricey, but buy the good stuff when it's on sale. You really only need white, black, light gray, dark grey, and medium gray for seam stitching. You can use a cheapy thread in a matching color for top-stitching if you want.

And if you want some thread just to play around while you're learning your machine, please let me know. I have an over-abundance of threads...in every color you can imagine. Oooh! Did I tell you I'm THRILLED for you! ☺ ☺ ☺ Seriously...call me or email soon so we can arrange a play-date. (((HUGS)))
