June Update #1

Hey Y'all!    I managed to work on a couple WIP's in the last week--yea!
I started Chocolate Maynia on  May  10.
1 "days" work
I've now worked on it for 6 more days in June.

I've also managed to find my counting error for my Pumpkin Passport by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and have been working away on it since Monday.

Not only is it a 2016 stitch along, I'm also including it in my Whine & WIP's for Stitch Maynia.  I love the design, but not the fabric.  Don't get me wrong, it's lovely.  I'm struggling with finding the holes--they just don't seem defined enough. I'm pushing thru and hope to be caught up by Monday. Nearly finished with May then on to the June "block".

My LNS was having an Anniversary Sale last weekend and I was NOT able to go : (.  I was super bummed, so I went online and bought a few things : O.
The first to arrive was a new needle minder by Frosted Pumpkin. I was quite concerned when I pulled this package from the mail box.
"Received unsealed"  YIKES!
Alas, all was well and my order arrived safely!!!

Is this not the cutest thing?!!

I also ordered the PDF of their new Summer SAL that begins June 17.  My reward for getting caught up on Passport is to start this SAL on time!

I will show you my other haul when it arrives.
Until next time, Happy Stitching =) Pam

Welcome JUNE

Wow a new month is upon us.  This year is flying by!  Woke up this morning to Sunshine and rain together.  Got to see a beautiful rainbow on the boy's Last Day of 9th grade!

There's a little bird on the power line as well, but you can barely see him, .  He was too cute--basking in the sun!

Thought I'd wrap up May by showing you my ONE Finish:

I both started and finished this in May.  I combined 2 design's into one.  The "Living" words are from Coutry Stitch Magazine Sept/Oct 1992 (no designer listed).  The Seaside Tiles are by Lucie Heaton found in CrossStitcher magazine March 2009.  I so love how it turned out.  Just need to decide how to Fully Finish it! Seriously considering framing or a pillow.  Would love to hear what you think?

Also wanted to share a few Needle Minders that I made for myself in May

The cute heart was on my Mother's Day card from the hubs.  It says "my wife, my love".  He had no idea when he bought the card I'd be using it on my cross stitch--Ha!  Got the birdcage and owl @ Hobby Lobby and the other one on clearance at Michael's.  I  get my magnets from my LNS or Stoney Creek.

As this is a new month, I'm gonna let myself out of "timeout" and stitch on some Vintage WIP's for a Vintage SAL in the Finish Line FB group.   I'm also using one as my "Whine & Whips" for Stitch Maynia Group.
Do you remember this guy?

Definitely one I whine about!  I love the design and so want it finished, but I was so "all over the place" when I started it that I have a hard time finding my way.  I'm determined though!  I'll try to show my progress more often thru the month.
Well that's all I've got time for for now.  Happy Stitching y'all!  =)  Pam

Up to my old habits

Sorry guys,  I've fallen off the wagon yet again!  I have good intentions, really I do.
I have been stitching and posting on Instagram, but can't seem to find the time to blog. I do have a "new" computer at home now, so NO MORE EXCUSES.

I may have gone completely crazy this year, but "its for science".  Not only did I participate in the Crazy January Challenge and start my first ever Mira chart, I also participated in a Facebook Group challenge of  Stitch Maynia.  I now have 15 more NEW Starts.  Just decided that I'm never going to finish them if I don't START!
I wont bore you with photos of ALL the starts, I'll try to show them as I work on them though.

I have finally stitched another square for Love Quilts USA (click name for link) They have gone thru some changes, have a new website and are now on Facebook. This particular square was a special project and is much smaller than a usual stitch.  I quite like how it turned out!

One other update I'll share for now is my Frosted Pumpkin Passport 2016 Mystery SAL.  I'm currently working on May's release but am going to have to frog some, so.....here's Jan - April.  I have made some personalizatons to certain portions:

Until next time, Happy Stitching Yall =)Pam

First Week of March

O my goodness it's March 7 already! I have been successful in keeping it a Mostly Monogamous March.   I made decent progress on my Mira project.  Here's my day one start, which was actually March 3.

And here's where I ended last night which was Day 3 of my stitching time.

I know, I know-- I didn't start in the middle, the shame!  ha ha  I have a tendency to start at the top if I can because that's the direction I like to stitch.
Wanted to share a little bit of recently added stash.  Stoney Creek had a Superbowl Sunday Sale. Managed to eek out a few things that day.
The butterfly Love was their February Free chart. I didn't get the rest of the series, but it was free so I figured what the hay!

Needed a few DMC for my Mira project so went to Hobby Lobby on Saturday to get those.  While I was there found a chart on clearance.  Picked it up for $7.  I didn't realize they've gone up on their DMC again!  It's now .49 each--YIKES!  I'm gonna show my age here but I remember paying .10 each.  Definately gonna have to keep an eye out for DMC sales in the future.
I have no plans to stitch any of these designs anytime soon, but I just had to have them.  I have not decided if I will work on my Frosted Pumpkin March "block" this week or not. I'm  enjoying working on my Mira, "Autumn in my Garden" so much. Unless I just get frustrated with it, I may just wait until next week for the Pumpkin SAL.  If you'd like to follow me on Instagram @farmboyslove you can see daily updates.  Otherwise I'll see you back here next week.
Until then, Happy Stitching =) Pam

Welcome March

O My Goodness, this year is flying!  February was not a good stitching month for me.  I almost nearly lost my stitching bug completely. I was so excited to take a class  and learn some specialty stitches at my LNS.  The designer was wonderful (she taught the class) and  the project was beautiful. This is the cover for the design.
wow this photo is wonky! But you get the gist.
I however was a basket case!  I was in tears within the first 15 minutes & very nearly just got up and walked out of the class. I really still cant talk about it without getting upset again.  Suffice it to say "I HATE STITCHING ON LINEN"  If that was all there was to stitch on I would NEVER stitch again!!!!!!  I guess I'm glad I took the class.  I did learn several things, though I'm not sure I'll every use them?

I did  managed to work on a couple of  my January projects. I attempted to find another silk to use in the blank spaces of the border.  Kit includes black, but I really dont want to use it. I purchased a variegated hot pinkish color, but I'm just not feeling it either.  UGH!  So this one has been put away for now.

I also have a FINISH!  I love how it turned out.  I'm still debating on how I will FFO it-- a small frame, pillow or  a door hanger.  Decisions, decisions....

Now for my March plans.  I watch a lot of Floss Tube while I stitch & I'm in a couple of Facebook groups as well.  I'd already signed up with one of the groups to stitch a Mirabilia SAL this month.  I have also decided to join Jessie Marie of Jessie Marie Does Stuff on Floss Tube in stitching Mostly Monogamous March Mirabilia.  Yep, that's a mouthful!  Basically other than my Frosted Pumpkin March "block" I will only be stitching on the one Mira project all month. Makes for an easy rotation huh? Here'my chosen design:

I'm gonna try my best to give you weekly updates here on the blog.  Of course, when I stitch I update Instagram daily so check me out there as well @farmboyslove.
I hope you all are doing well.  Happy Stitching  = ) Pam

Happy Valentines Day

"Love is Patient, Love is Kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth.  It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails! "  1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

May we all show a little more LOVE today!  = ) Pam
